Tavish Scott comments on Auditor General’s CAP payments investigation
The Auditor General has responded to a letter from Shetland MSP, Tavish Scott, about the delays in CAP payments affecting farmers and crofters.
In her letter, the Auditor General confirms that a report into the delivery of the new system will be published in May 2016.
Scottish Liberal Democrat rural affairs spokesman, Tavish Scott, said:
“I know that the Auditor General’s investigation of the Scottish Government’s failure to pay farmers and crofters on time will leave no stone unturned. Any farmers and crofters who have been affected by this Scottish Government fiasco should contact Audit Scotland. It will help them to build a clear picture of how this complete cock-up by the Scottish Government has hit crofters and farmers from Shetland to Galloway and all points in between.”
