Responding to comments made by the First Minister in Aberdeen today, Tavish said that the Scottish Government needed to invest in ports and harbours to ensure off shore decommissioning work comes to Scotland.
"An investment in ports and harbours to win off shore decommissioning work is badly needed.
"I want to see investment in places that the oil industry wants to use. Lerwick is at the centre of the Northern North Sea, making Shetland the logical place for this decommissioning work.
"The port is expanding and I want the Scottish Government to make key investments that can help Shetland be competitive against Norway which is where work is currently going."
